Arip Yogiawan, S.H.

Arif Yogiawan is a senior public interest lawyer, civil society practitioner, and policy advocate with extensive experience in human rights, agrarian reform, environmental justice, access to justice, and community legal empowerment in Indonesia. As a member of Perkumpulan Inisiatif, he contributes to initiatives aimed at strengthening participatory governance, responsible natural resource management, protection of community rights, and more equitable development policies. His professional experience combines legal expertise with extensive engagement with civil society organizations and affected communities, enabling him to analyse development challenges not only from a legal and institutional perspective, but also through the lenses of social justice, power relations, community rights, and inclusive development.

Arip has developed substantial expertise in public interest law, human rights protection, agrarian reform, environmental and social justice, natural resource governance, conflict resolution, legal empowerment, and policy advocacy. His professional experience includes involvement with Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Indonesia (YLBHI), particularly in strengthening advocacy, campaigns, and civil society networks. He has also been engaged in strategic advocacy concerning freedom of expression, agrarian and natural resource conflicts, environmental protection, and the rights of communities affected by development policies and resource governance. Through his engagement with Perkumpulan Inisiatif, he has contributed to policy dialogues and capacity-building processes concerning agrarian reform, natural resource governance, conflict management, and protection of farmers and local communities.
