Ujang Sutisna is a senior community empowerment, poverty reduction, and community-based development practitioner with extensive experience working directly with communities and strengthening local capacities, particularly in Bandung Regency. As a member of Perkumpulan INISIATIF, he has contributed to the organization’s longstanding commitment to strengthening civil society and advancing development approaches that place communities at the center of social change. His experience encompasses community empowerment and poverty reduction programs, local institutional strengthening, political education, and capacity development to enable citizens to participate more meaningfully in development processes. His extensive work facilitating communities in local development planning and budgeting, including Musrenbang processes at village, sub-district, and district levels, demonstrates his ability to connect community priorities with public policy and development resources. His approach recognizes poverty as a multidimensional challenge requiring stronger capacities, access, institutions, participation, and opportunities for communities to shape their own development

With strong grassroots experience, Ujang is recognized for an empowerment-oriented approach integrating community facilitation, local capacity building, citizen participation, political education, and policy advocacy.
