Wulandari, M.Sos

Wulandari is a civil society leader, community organiser, and advocate for social justice who has dedicated more than two decades of her work to Perkumpulan Inisiatif. Holding a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from Parahyangan Catholic University, she combines rigorous social analysis with extensive grassroots experience. Her work is grounded in the conviction that meaningful social change must emerge from within communities—from knowledge, critical awareness, collective organising, and citizens’ ability to influence the decisions that shape their lives. Throughout her journey, she has contributed to community education, civic leadership development, and public policy advocacy, including through the School of Budget Politics (SEPOLA).

Wulandari’s areas of engagement encompass gender equality, women’s empowerment, disability inclusion, public accountability, ecological justice, and a just energy transition. She has a particular commitment to people at the intersection of multiple vulnerabilities—including women, persons with disabilities, low-income communities, and communities affected by unequal access to resources. Her perspective understands injustice not as an isolated problem, but as a structural issue shaped by power relations, resource distribution, public policy, and access to rights. Her work therefore goes beyond empowerment toward policy change, strengthening citizens’ voices, and advancing more inclusive and accountable governance.

As a member of the Governing Board of Perkumpulan Inisiatif, Wulandari brings this experience and perspective into the organisation’s strategic leadership and cross-sector collaborations. Her leadership is grounded in a simple yet fundamental principle: justice is not given; it is built through knowledge, organisation, participation, and the courage to pursue it. For Wulandari, civil society is not merely a watchdog of power, but a vital force for ensuring that democracy works for those most vulnerable, development leaves no one behind, and every citizen has an equal opportunity to shape their own future.
